RELEASE #29 IS NOW LIVE ALONG WITH SOME PHOTO FORMATTING IDEAS!

Hi Everyone,

This month we have a fabulous scrapper, Emma Zappone joining us as our April Guest Artist. Em
created a beautiful page for the Valentines Sketch Challenge so I invited her to help with this months release. On the 3rd of April we will be getting to know Em a little bit more... we will check out more of her fabulous scrappy style, get an insight into how she uses sketches ooh and there just might be a great signature trick that Em has kindly shared with us too! So keep an eye out for her exposé in the coming days.

Also this month we thought we'd look at some photo formatting tricks or at the very least revisit some we may not have used for awhile. This includes some tips and tricks in stepping out of your comfort zone and to get you thinking about different ways to present your photos and hopefully creating extra special and different pages that resonate with you.

Although using standard sized photos is perfectly okay, its always fun to try different ways of showcasing your precious photo's. Many of us are nervous to move away from the traditional 5X7"and 4X6" photo sizes, lets face it they are tried, true and tested ways for formatting and presenting your snapshot, but lets spice things up a bit and try something different!

In future releases we will look at different shaped photo's, ways to mount them and who knows you may even begin to like the freedom of cutting your photos and creating pages with more of a mixed media/collage approach.  I know you will already know this but just to be on the safe side I wouldnt recommend you use your original heritage photos... instead scan those and print them out, leaving the originals to be stored safely for future generations to enjoy and cherish.
Here is a really good resource outlining ways to

So lets
CHECK OUT OUR APRIL
ON FUNKY WAYS TO SHOWCASE YOUR PHOTO'S

TIP 1: Try using Polaroids or Instagram photo's for a fun modern look. You can get these printed professionally now as many larger shopping centers have Instabooths but its equally as easy to print from home. Another idea is to stack several copies of the same photo to create a relaxed less formal look.

TIP 2: BIG IS BEST! I'm not sure that is true but I do recommend you try using a larger formatted photo to occupy 2/3 of your scrapbook page. This approach lends itself nicely to showcasing family portraits & landscape shots. An alternate idea would be to add a multitude of mini photos in lieu of the single large photo. This would be a great way to scrap an entire week or holiday much like a Project Life Page without using pockets.

TIP 3: Strip photos (Photobooth style) are a great way to showcase a sequence of photo's from the one event like a whole heap of selfies, a sports/action sequence or a celebration. Try cutting a photo into quarters like in Template #29.5. This is a simple way to add some extra interest to the photo.

Okay so here are the mojo kickstarters for this months release...
